Attendees gather for the AZA Institutional Records Keeping and Population Management Course

To master best practices in recording and using animal data, more than two dozen individuals participated in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' (AZA) 2023 Professional Development course in Institutional Records Keeping. Attendees traveled to the course from a wide range of institutions and locations, including zoos and aquariums serving communities in North, Central, and Latin America. Species360 Training and Member Support representatives taught modules throughout the course, continuing more than 20 years of partnership supporting the AZA course.

ZIMS at Work: Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Rates Online ZIMS for Aquarists and Keepers course

We are delighted to see the response from Species360 members to the ZIMS Training Academy’s first online training course, ZIMS for Aquarists and Keepers! Since its launch in late 2022, the course has received hundreds of registrations and encouraging feedback from early participants. EAZA Academy: ZIMS for Medical Training addresses data retrieval and analysis as well as data input

In April, EAZA Academy will offer ZIMS for Medical Training, a course introducing concepts and best practices for using ZIMS for Medical. The course will cover both data entry and data retrieval. Attendees will learn how to navigate in the Medical module, input data into the eight modules such as Pharmacy, Sample Storage, and Global Medical Resources, and extract and analyze data using ZIMS reports and tools.
