We are so happy to introduce new team member Uljana Kałążny! Uljana joins the Member Support team, where she will work on-on-one with members to help them use the Species360 Zoological Information System (ZIMS) to record and share information on husbandry, medical, care and welfare, studbooks and other needs throughout their institutions.

“As a passionate fan of zoological and botanical gardens and a ZIMS geek, I am thrilled to become a part of the incredible Species360 team. I am particularly excited about the opportunities to engage in multilingual communication, problem-solving, and providing support to Species360 members across the globe. Joining this team, I am eager to contribute to enhancement of the data, animal care and species conservation,” said Uljana.

Uljana brings 15 years of experience working in zoos in Poland, initially as a keeper and later as a curator. “Keeping animal records has always been one of my favorite tasks,” she says.

Uljana grew up in Siberia before moving to Poland, and has experienced a wide range of temperatures, from -41°C to +41°C. She enjoys travel, modern art, alternative music, sci-fi movies, and creating ceramic pots for her plants. Uljana’s favorite animals? Bushdogs, callitrichids, and penguins!
