As a member of the Species360 community for over 35 years, Bristol Zoological Society is already using ZIMS – the Zoological Information Management System used by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and other zoo and aquarium associations worldwide – to streamline the way that information is recorded and applied throughout the organisation.
The Cologne Zoo, the third oldest zoo in Germany and home to more than 850 species in total, is a noteworthy leader in research and species protection programs. The Zoo uses the Species360 Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS) for day-to-day record-keeping as well as for its conservation projects out in the field.
Tracking offspring can be difficult as eggs hatch and chicks move beyond their nest. So when Species360 enhanced ZIMS for Husbandry to include new search capabilities, Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo Animal Care, Health & Welfare team quickly put the new capabilities to use.
