Welcome to Joris Verbruggen, who joins Species360 as a Member Support Representative. Joris brings a wealth of experience from Species360 member institution AAP (Animal Advocacy and Protection), where he worked as an outplacement coordinator to permanently re-home rescued animals to zoological institutions.

Joris has ZIMS experience and a strong network of zoo and sanctuary relationships in Europe and beyond. He lives near Rotterdam in The Netherlands.

“Supporting people and animals that lost the ability to fend for themselves has always been a common thread in my life. My focus is on animal welfare and species conservation. Working at Species360 allows me to combine both,” said Joris.

Joris will support our members, answering questions and helping to use ZIMS to record animal data.  He’ll be the dedicated member representative for about 200 members.

In his spare time Joris enjoys reconstructing his century old house to create a welcoming home for his family and a long line of rescued cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. He is also an editor for the renowned zoo design website ZooLex.
