New in ZIMS: Enhancements to Husbandry and Aquatics to streamline your daily tasks!

We’re pleased to share several new updates to ZIMS this past month, bringing valuable enhancements to the Husbandry and Aquatics modules. These improvements are designed to simplify your daily workflows, encourage more comprehensive data entry, and provide better visibility into your animal records.

Daily Activity Updates

The Daily Activity enclosure tab now includes life support system and component checklist items. This integration means you can more easily manage and track the critical elements supporting your aquatic and other specialized animal habitats directly from your Daily Activity view on your mobile device.

New Additions to on-the-go Data Entry

We’ve added more options to the record types for on-the-go Data Entry. The latest update includes body condition score (BCS) and a time field for the Weights section. Having BCS accessible when recording weights simplifies the data entry process for users that record that data at the same time. This also encourages users to record more data into ZIMS, making more complete animal records.

Permissions are still followed, so if a user does not have rights to record BCS, they can see the data entry field but cannot add a BCS before saving a weight.

Improved Visibility for Group Changes

To give you a clearer picture of your animal groups, a filter for census data was added to the Animal Event section on Daily Activity.

Export your Daily Activity Data

We’ve added a download to Excel option to the Daily Activity Enclosure tab. Users can download all record types and include enclosure, life support system and component data.
