New in ZIMS: Explore Global Member Data with New Interactive Dashboard

We’re excited to launch the new Global Member Data dashboard in the Species360 Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS). The first report to be released replaces and significantly upgrades the former Animal Charts feature, providing an upgraded and centralized platform to view species data at a global or institutional level.

The Global Member Data dashboard will provide an interactive and central hub for members to visualize the vast scope of aggregated data from the global Species360 community. The dashboard will highlight the collective impact of more than 1,400 institutions recording data in ZIMS, offering unparalleled insights into the largest collection of knowledge on wildlife in human care.

Users can explore dynamic and interactive graphs displaying the number of animals and species across a range of categories, including:

  • CITES appendix
  • EU annex
  • IUCN Red List status
  • Taxonomy

The interactive capabilities of the graph means users can choose which data they would like to see on the graph axis, have the ability to include or exclude specified data sets, as well as view a breakdown of the data, for example, by sex, taxonomy, animal status, accession type and more.

Additionally, users can generate and download a QR code linking directly to the Global Member Data report — making it quick and easy to access and share insights.

The reports are fully accessible from both the desktop and mobile versions of ZIMS, and will update weekly, helping institutions explore and compare animal data across the Species360 membership.
