At Species360, our global community is built on collaboration, inclusion, and respect for people, for animals, and for the planet we share. As June arrives, we are proud to celebrate Pride Month and honor the voices, contributions, and lived experiences of our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, partners, and members across the world.
June marks Pride Month in the United States, commemorating the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 when brave individuals stood up against discrimination and police brutality. Over 50 years later, Pride Month continues to shine as a celebration of identity, resilience, and
Community.
This June, we proudly join millions around the globe in celebrating Pride Month, honoring the LGBTQIA+ community and reaffirming our commitment to inclusion, compassion, and respect for all individuals.
As an organization committed to global collaboration and science-driven animal care and conservation, we recognize the importance of creating inclusive environments, not only in our workplace but in the broader community of zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and conservation partners around the world.
We are proud to stand with LGBTQIA+ colleagues, partners, and members of our community.
Nature itself is wonderfully diverse. Across the animal kingdom, we see examples of same-sex behavior and complex gender expressions that challenge rigid binaries. From penguins forming same-sex pair bonds, to clownfish changing sex as part of their life cycle, and bonobos using same-sex interactions to strengthen social bonds – biodiversity includes diversity in behavior and identity.
These natural examples remind us that variation is not only natural, it’s vital. They also offer a gentle reminder that inclusion is not a human invention, but a reflection of the wide, beautiful spectrum of life.
To our LGBTQIA+ members, staff, and supporters: we see you, we stand with you, and we celebrate you, not just in June, but always.
Happy Pride from Species360!
