Celebrating a Long-Term Conservation Impact Partnership: Mazuri and Species360

At Species360, collaboration is at the heart of our mission to improve animal care and advance species conservation through shared data and global partnerships.

Today, we are proud to recognize  Mazuri®, a leading provider of specialized animal nutrition, as a long-standing Species360 Conservation Impact Partner. Their continued support helps us turn data into real-world insights for animal care and conservation.

Mazuri, whose name means “good” in Swahili, has been committed to exotic animal nutrition since 1989. As a division of  Land O’Lakes, Mazuri develops high-quality, science-based diets for animals ranging from reptiles and amphibians to primates and large carnivores. Their products are trusted by zoos and aquariums globally.

Mazuri’s dedication to animal welfare and conservation is reflected in their support for organizations working to protect endangered species. This includes partnerships with groups like  Species360, the Turtle Survival Alliance, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where Mazuri has helped develop specialized life-stage diets to support breeding and reintroduction programs for threatened species.

“Whether they are someone’s pets or an endangered species in the wild, we want to help make animals’ lives better no matter where they are in the world,” says General Manager John Zeloski. “Supporting endangered species requires many hands, which means partnerships are especially important.”

Together, we work to ensure that high-quality data informs the care of individual animals and contributes to broader conservation strategies. Mazuri’s support helps empower more than 1,300 zoos, aquariums, and wildlife institutions in over 100 countries to make informed decisions that benefit both animals and ecosystems.

“We are deeply grateful for Mazuri’s enduring support,” said Angela Walsh, Director of Institutional Partnerships at Species360. “Their commitment to animal welfare and collaboration has helped advance our shared goals and strengthen the global conservation community.”

As we look ahead, we celebrate the power of partnerships in driving meaningful change. Thank you, Mazuri, for your continued partnership and for being a vital part of the Species360 community.
