ZIMS at Work: Germany’s Wuppertal Zoo contributes essential data for more than 800 species

Wuppertal Zoo is one of the largest contributors of husbandry and medical information used to better understand and care for wildlife. Curators, animal care, and aquatic experts use Species360 ZIMS (the Zoological Information Management System), to enter over 150,000 husbandry and medical records for more than 800 Species.

New in ZIMS: Batch Edit!

Have you ever written a batch note or observation and then wanted to edit the batch? Now you can! The ZIMS for Husbandry team added this functionality that was requested by Species360 members. When creating notes and observations using a batch action, you can edit the individual record afterwards. When editing the record, you will see the option to edit for the entire batch or for the individual.

Wildlife Conservation: Refuge for endangered Red Siskin songbird receives Species360 Membership Grant

As a Species360 conservation grant recipient, the Red Siskin Conservation Center (RSCC) at Leslie Pantin zoo will curate and husbandry data with international species survival program partners, including the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, Zoo Miami, Brevard Zoo, National Aviary in Pittsburgh, and members of WAZA, AZA, EAZA, ZAA (Australasia), Brazilian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZAB), and more. The RSCC was established in 2019 through a grant from AZA.
