We are fortunate to share that Hannah Jenkins has joined Species360 as a Member Training Specialist, expanding our staff based in Europe. Hannah comes to Species360 from the Zoological Society of London where she was Zoological Registrar for ZSL London and ZSL Whipsnade Zoos.
The Species360 Member Support and Training team provides assistance every day throughout the year, covering holidays to meet the needs of our members in over 100 countries. In August and September, the team exceeded its performance metrics - again resolving over 90 percent of questions and issues in the first response (goal 85 percent) and with nearly perfect (4.8 out of 5) satisfaction ratings. Congrats team!
Species360 research partners use ZIMS data to discover new insights. Among the participants in the research partner program are University of California at Berkeley and UC Davis (United States), University of Navarro (Spain), Babes Bolyai University (Romania), Murdoch University (Australia), and Royal Agriculture University (England).

The tighter connection between mission and revenue is one of several important consumer research findings presented by Impacts Experience, a team that helps executives at cultural institutions like aquariums, museums, and zoos to develop business and audience engagement strategies based on actionable data.
As a global nonprofit, Species360 facilitates international collaboration in recording and sharing essential data on species. A growing number of wildlife institutions are participating in this effort. In all, 34 aquariums, zoos, and wildlife refuges in Europe, Asia, and the Americas have joined Species360 this year. They represent non-profit and for-profit, large and small institutions.
In 2021, Species360 welcomes five new and returning trustees elected by our institutional members to serve on our board.
Zoo, aquarium, wildlife veterinarians use the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS) to record and share information regarding animals in their care. Now, when these veterinary teams send blood samples to IDEXX, they can view and upload the report directly in ZIMS for Medical. Called ZIMS Test Result Upload, the new feature reduces manual data entry for veterinary staff and improves the accuracy and volume of data used to calculate ZIMS Expected Test Results used by veterinarians to diagnose illness.
As a global community, we are now managing over 1,060 studbooks using ZIMS for Studbooks. The transition to an integrated, secure, standardized solution helps to improve access to information that is critical to managing populations, their genetics and welfare, now and in the future.
