Conservation: Championing the Global Initiative to End Wildlife Crime
Species360 is among those invited to be an International Champion of the EWC initiative. Other champions include the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), African Wildlife Foundation, IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, the Jane Goodall Institute and others. International Champions support the EWC Statement of Purpose, and help to advance the objectives of the Initiative among their peers, members, and communities.
WWF / Tiger Trade: Central EU registry, much like the one EAZA requires of its members, among steps needed to protect animals
To curb illegal trade in tigers, WWF and TRAFFIC recommend establishing a central EU registry, one that models the one required by European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), to improve transparency to the births, care, welfare, and deaths of all tigers in captivity.
Conservation: EAZA Songbirds TAG and Species360 use data to pinpoint species at risk
EAZA's Silent Forest Group partners with Species360 Conservation Science Alliance to create a new way of looking at the world of songbirds -- one they hope will further enhance efforts to save them. The Songbird Species Knowledge Index applies analytics to global data, including vast demographic information curated by Species360 member zoos and aquariums using ZIMS.
