In early 2021, Species360 released the ability to add a Target Weight Range for animals and eggs. Now, one year in, it is among the most used new features in ZIMS.
If you haven’t already, check it out! You can use this new ZIMS for Husbandry feature to target and monitor the weight ranges that apply to different physiological conditions during the life of an animal, such as juvenile, molting or pregnant.
Why is Target Weight Range such a favorite among zoo and aquarium staff? Ultimately, the Target Weight Range function improves the way that you utilize ZIMS data to make decisions for the animals in your care.
Monitoring selected individuals and groups:
By setting a target weight range, if a weight is recorded out of range, that weight will be flagged in red in the animal’s record and when viewing it in the ZIMS for Husbandry Animal Graphing Tool.
Users can also get a snapshot of the animals that have set target weight ranges by using column customization with an animal search, animal list, or from the enclosure occupants tab.
Also requested by registrars and now available in ZIMS – Batch Edit!
