2022 Conferences: We enjoyed seeing members at RAW – the Regional Aquatics Workshop (United States)

We were thrilled to be back “in person” – presenting, talking with members, and learning from a wide range of experts last week at RAW 2022 (U.S.).
Our own Sandy Trautwein, Ph.D., Director of Aquatic Conservation, Species360, joined nine others speaking at the TIDE Talks – each one sharing a pivotal experience that influenced their thinking or actions within the aquatic conservation community.
Sandy spoke again later in the week, and discussed the role of individual, group, and population data in supporting sustainable collection planning and conservation.
“Recent data on the most financially successful aquariums indicates that being good at your mission is more important than ever,” said Sandy. “As aquariums achieve success in sustainability, animal rescue, and conservation, data has an important role to play in supporting and communicating our results.”
Many thanks to all that stopped by the Species360 booth and talked with Sandy, Nannette Driver-Ruiz, Product Owner, ZIMS for Husbandry and Aquatics, and Erika Fronk, Member Advocate and one of our go-to experts on Studbooks!
We look forward to seeing you again – whether online or in person – at other gatherings throughout the year.
