Senior Software Engineer Russ Erickson joins Species360

Welcome Russ Erickson to the Species360 team!

Welcome Russ Erickson to the Species360 team! Russ has more than five years of software development and three years of management experience, and has spent several years as a consultant working on a wide array of technologies and projects. He has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Russ will contribute to the development of features and functionality for the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS).

“My first real passion in life was studying fish, including making my own fish-themed version of Monopoly when I was in elementary school. It would’ve been pretty hard to study marine biology in rural Illinois, though, and I went into computer science. I’m excited to use my experience as an engineer and my love of all animals to continue to support and improve ZIMS and to help foster education and conservation for zoos, aquariums, and the animals that they care for,” said Russ.

In his spare time, Russ enjoys gaming, sports and spending time with his wife and cat.
