Software engineer and former zoo keeper Sarah Hanley joins Species360

We are pleased to welcome Software Engineer Sarah Hanley to Species360!
Before launching her career in software development, Sarah worked as a zoo keeper – and used ZIMS – at Species360 member institutions Toledo Zoo, Lee Richardson Zoo, Knoxville Zoo, Detroit Zoo, and the Saint Louis Zoo.
“I primarily worked with elephants and hoofstock, but if it’s a mammal I’ve probably taken care of it. I am eager to contribute once again to animal conservation, this time as part of Species360,” said Sarah.
Sarah will contribute to the development of features and functionality for the Zoological Information Management System (ZIMS). She joins Species360 from moving and logistics company Unigroup, where she worked on mobile and other software applications.
In her spare time Sarah fosters critically ill and hospice dogs for Gateway Pet Guardians in East St. Louis, and enjoys World of Warcraft and other videogames.
In July, Species360 welcomed long-time industry leader and ZIMS expert Frands Carlsen as a Species360 Member Advocate. Read more here.
