EAZA has created a new Records Working Group to support EAZA members with record keeping and to share knowledge and best practices — including husbandry, animal welfare, animal graphing, medical, and studbooks.

The EAZA Records Working Group will be led by ZSL London Zoo Registrar Hannah Jenkins. The Working Group is now searching for a Vice Chair and for members!

From EAZA September Community News: We are looking for individuals with records-based skills and knowledge within the EAZA Membership. If you are interested, please fill in this form by 31 October 2020. For more information, please contact Hannah Jenkins.

Records are becoming more and more accessible with the changing times, says Jenkins in her article “Rise of the Registrar.”

“Keepers are able to see the information they collect, see how it is being used and valued. They can see where their data is going and how it benefits the global community,” she says.
