Home to Giant Pandas and More, Japan’s Shirahama Zoo Joins Species360

Shirahama Adventure World, a zoo and aquarium near white sand beaches and hot springs of the Wakayama Prefecture, has joined Species360. A member of Japanese Zoo and Aquarium Association (JAZA), Shirahama has 125 species and more than 1.2 million annual visitors.

Shirahama works in collaboration with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Southwest China’s Sichuan province, which is the most successful panda breeding facility outside of mainland China. Currently, there are 8 Giant Panda in residence, including Saihama born in August 2018 to mom Rouhin.
In April, Species360 announced new members Kobe and Nasu Animal Kingdoms.
